PRESS RELEASE: PRESIDENT KAGAMA TO DELIVER SPEECH AT AFRICA BAR CONFERENCE

The Africa Bar Association, AFBA will be holding its annual conference in Nairobi, Kenya from Sunday July 22 to July 27, 2018.
The ceremony is billed to hold at the prestigious Kenyatta International Convention Center, in the heart of Nairobi.

According to Osa Director, the Special Adviser, Media and Publicity to the African Bar Association, over 3,000 lawyers from across the continent and international associates of AFBA will participate in this year’s conference. The theme of the 2018 AFBA conference is: “Africa’s socio-economic and Political future: Africa’s Union Agenda 2063 –perspective.” As a fitting tribute, the Chairman of the African Union, and President of Rwanda, Paul Kagame will deliver the Keynote address.

Meanwhile, the President of the Republic of Kenya, Uhuru Keyatta has agreed to play the role of Special Guest of Honour, and also expected to make a speech. Mr Mike Sonko, the Governor of Nairobi City County is the Chief host.

Other guests expected at the occassion include Dr Benedict Oramah who is a guest speaker and President of Afrexim Bank based in Cairo, Egypt. Dr Richard Munang, the United Nations Co-ordinator for Climate Change is guest reviewer.
Hanibal Uwaifo, President of AFBA says, “as the fearless bar on the continent we must help to drive a positive agenda for an all inclusive development on the continent.”

Certainly, AFBA is poised to take a front role seat in continental bar activities after its rebirth conference in Harare in 2016 and another successful outing in the oil rich City of Port Harcourt in 2017. Now, Nairobi plays host.
